     Hola and good evening. You may have noticed that I exchanged the existing flash player for an MP3 store. You can still preview the music, but you can purchase the tracks directly from me. For only 99 cents a track, you too can buy some music and support a starving artist. If it helps I'll send you a photoshopped picture of me looking all dangerously thin so as to appeal to your sympathetic nature.

     In the desire of actually finishing with some music, I am going to simply focus on writing short pieces that will be no longer than a minute or two. I have just put up another piece titled "Black Mirror." It is kind of dark like the last piece. I hope you find some joy in the dark places.

     It seems every time I start to get back into the flow of writing music someone or something steps in anonymously and without my knowledge and quietly whispers in a tone that affects apparently only my subconcious or the world abience of the world around me,"here, keep busy with this." Bleh. I'm almost certain at this point that it is quite difficult to make any amount of money worth mentioning through the company I had tried and tested. They have too much shit on their site to filter through and it each track is way too cheap for the time invested in a piece of music. Perhaps I'll try another company. Though I've never really had the care of income for something I've always considered a hobby, the fantasy was more interesting or distracting than reality.

     So I hadn't uploaded any music yet as stock music until tonight, but I started to push out sound effects I've generated a few days ago. I uploaded my first as an experiment to watch the process of submitting audio. It took a few days for the approval, but it's finally accepted for sale on the eStockMusic.com website, under my portfolio. Check it out.

     So I guess a piece of music I wrote and recorded is going to be on the soundtrack of an independent film to be released sometime late summer or fall this year. Sweet deal. "Philosophic Egg" is an old song, but a good one, and it's currently on the playlist if you wanna check it out. I'll post more details as soon as I have them.

     I've been experimenting with some sounds. I'm working on creating an ensemble that I can work with over time so I can focus on writing music rather than being distracted by the general climate of writing electronic music wherein I have to create a new ensemble of sounds for every piece. I've had a certain dark ensemble in the back of my head for the last ten years that I never got around to working with. It is essentially comprised of lower woodwinds, strings, melodic and ethnic percussion and other instruments for specific pieces. I'll be working on composing some music with this ensemble in mind, but does anyone have any ideas for pieces I could rearrange within this soundscape?
     I have two weeks left of the spring semester and then I'll have more time to really focus on putting together some music. In the meantime I have a long paper to work on and two major tests to prepare for.

     I created an account with a stock music company. This particular one I'm starting with doesn't sell for quite as much as others, but I retain the rights to my work and there are apparently less restrictions on style and quality, to a degree anyway. I talked with the head of the company today and inquired as to the most popular styles, and he tells me usually world music and orchestral are better are on the market. So, I may be getting back to a more natural group of sounds, though still generated with software and hardware synthesizers and samplers.
     This sort of company will allow me to experiment with this market a bit to find my niche before I begin petitioning other companies to sell exlusive rights to the company for more money up front. I will upload a piece here and there here as well as samples so you can hear the style I'm developing, as they can't be downloaded anyway with the flash player I'm currently using.

     I am picking back up the gauntlet. I've started by giving the website an overhaul. Content will be following as soon as I get everything settled and figured out here. I may put up a flash player. Bare with me. It is my sincere desire to have some new music posted every week in one format or another. Feel free to kick my ass if I fail in that respect.
